t MessyBeanz, we’re always looking for ways to better support families of children with special educational needs and disabilities, and we know that not every child finds what they need within a traditional school environment. Some children are home educated by choice, others because mainstream or specialist settings aren’t the right fit — and for many families, finding accessible, meaningful activities during the week can be a real challenge.
That’s why we’re so excited to introduce our MessyBeanz Home Ed Sessions — a safe, inclusive, sensory-rich space created especially for SEND children who are not currently in school or who are awaiting a suitable placement.
These sessions have already been incredibly positive, and it’s clear just how needed this service truly is.

Our Home Ed sessions are built on the same values as every MessyBeanz session: inclusion, freedom to explore, and child-led learning. But these sessions also provide something extra for children who may not thrive in busy, structured school environments.
Children can take part in sensory play at their own pace, in a small, calm group where expectations are flexible and every child is supported to be themselves. This gentle, nurturing environment provides opportunities for connection, exploration, and regulation — all of which are especially important for SEND children who may struggle with noise, crowds, or rigid routines.
